NAMM 2012: Taylor Guitars and the SolidBody Classic Electric Guitar
TAYLOR’S ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
The 2012 NAMM Show was in full force this past weekend in Anaheim, California and SMG hooked up with a Southern California icon in the guitar world, Taylor Guitars. Each year Taylor puts on an amazing show of gear, live performances and tons of other great information to NAMM visitors.
As you may or may not know, Taylor not only manufactures great acoustic guitars, but they also create awesome electrics. Their SolidBody Classic guitar series begins with a solid swamp ash body, but then they put you in complete and total control of the look and sound. If you are the type of person who likes options and wants to get down to the minutia of your next axe, then the Taylor SolidBody is the guitar for you.
The reason why, in case you are asking, would be because Taylor allows you to completely customize the guitar. You would first select either a single or double cutaway, then add a tremolo if you need one. Next, select any one of a dozen colors. Lastly select up to 14 different Taylor-designed pickup configurations that are easy-to-swap thanks to their solderless loaded pickguards!

SOLIDBODY BLUES LIVE AT TAYLOR!
While hanging out at Taylor Guitars at the NAMM Show, Oscar ran into fellow guitarist and popular instructor Mark Wein of MarkWeinGuitarLessons.com. Oscar and Mark grabbed a couple Taylor SolidBody Electric Guitars, cranked up their amps and went into an impromptu Prince jam in order to try out the guitars. Check out the video below for a demonstration of just a couple types of tones that are possible with the Taylor SolidBody Electric Guitar!
