Guitar Review: Dean Vendetta 1

This week’s review brings us to the Dean Vendetta 1.  I wanted to review a guitar that everyone could afford, not just the super expensive axes that are just out of reach for the average person wanting to start learning guitar.

This aggressive looking axe is not just for beginners but also for veterans alike.  The Dean Vendetta 1 is made of solid basswood that gives amazing sustain over driven or clean.  The vendetta 1 has a set joint maple neck with a rosewood fretboard.  The vendetta 1 has a neck that rivals more expensive guitar necks with its slippery feel and almost powder like textures.  With its 24 frets you can hit all those screaming notes that melt faces and make fans yell.

The Vendetta 1 comes with a Floyd rose double locking tremolo for all your rock needs.  The Vendetta 1 has the standard two humbucker pickup set up, giving you excellent bright tones as well as warm tones when in the neck position.  The Vendetta has a single volume knob, one tone knob and a 3-way selector switch that creates all the tone you will need to get your rock career started.

The Vendetta 1 also comes with die cast tuners that lend excellent string tension after the locking nuts are in place.  With its awesome transparent finish and deep cutaways the Dean Vendetta 1 is an excellent beginner’s guitar as well as a fine addition to any guitar collection.

My over all opinion of the Dean Vendetta 1 is… it’s a score for the price and amazing playability.  It is very light weight and very comfortable.  With the price tag at just under $280.00 you would think it is a cheap production type axe.  On the contrary, it seems to be priced to low… but let’s just keep that between you and me.  It sounds great and plays like guitars three times its price.  The tone is comparable to the Jackson dinky models which as you know come with Seymour Duncan pickups.

For all you tone chasers out there,  you will probably find the Vendetta 1 to be bland. Keep in mind that can always be corrected. Yet for any intermediate and beginning player, this is everything you would need to start building your chops for years to come.  This would be a great beginner guitar as well as an intermediate upgrade guitar. Try one out you will not regret it.

Till next week keep shredding and thanks for reading.
